Otapostasis – Otoplasty

Goal - Correction of the shape, size and symmetry of the auricles. This is the most common aesthetic intervention in one’s childhood.

Surgical Technique - The cartilages of the auricle are shaped in order to achieve the desired size and angle of the ear. Before the surgery, the patient actively decides on the shape of the ears.

Duration of procedure and anesthesia - It is performed under local anesthesia, and in children younger than 7-8 years, general anesthesia is required due to possible insufficient cooperation with the patient. The intervention lasts 60-90 min.

Recovery – One bandage every 3 days and sutures 10 days after surgery.

Rare complications - Swelling around the ears and small blood clots that go away in 10 days.
