Breast Reconstruction

Goal - Reconstruction, i.e. restoration of the volume and shape of the breast that was previously removed, usually due to a tumor.

Surgical Technique - It is achieved by implanting a tissue expander with which we first want to enlarge or expand the skin, which is filled with liquid usually for a duration of 6 weeks, and then it is removed and a permanent implant is placed. Another method is with the help of Becker's implant, which is used both as an expander and an implant, but it is used according to appropriate indications and the local findings of the patient.

Duration of the procedure and type of anesthesia - The operation is performed under general anesthesia and lasts for about 1 to 1.5 hours.

Recovery - During the implantation of an expander, the patient is required to come for regular check-ups in order to fill the expander with liquid.

Rare complications - Swelling, redness, the first few days there is a feeling of tightness.
