Breast Augmentation
Goal – Surgical breast augmentation, with placement of silicone gel implants. This is the most common and easiest aesthetic breast correction.
Operative technique – Implants are usually placed through an incision on the lower edge of the nipple with a length of several centimeters, so that it is hidden and imperceptible to achieve a maximum aesthetic effect afterwards. It is placed under the glandular tissue, under the fascia from the pectoral muscle (submammary), or under the pectoral muscle (submuscular, subpectoral). There is also access through the inframammary line or through the axilla or through the navel in patients with less developed breasts or upon special request.
Duration of procedure and anesthesia – The procedure lasts from 1 to 1.5 hours and is conducted under general anesthesia.
Recovery – Return to normal daily activities after a few days, sutures are removed after 9 days, and after the intervention the patient is required to wear a sports bra for 2 months, sparing physical exercise.
Rare complications - In a very small percentage, a short-term reduced or increased sensitivity of the nipples, small swelling and redness may occur, which disappear within 2 weeks at the latest.
